Teaching

My teaching experience includes two full academic years at the University of Iowa; a decade at the University of California, Merced; and six years of six-week MOOCs and US Embassy courses with The International Writing Program.

My teaching history includes both online instruction for asynchronous large-scale (MOOCs) and small-scale synchronous and asynchronous courses.

Across my 15-year teaching career in academia, I have taught a first-year interdisciplinary survey course; first-year composition and writing for engineering courses; first-year seminars on narrative ignorance, narrative reconstructions, and games; professional and technical writing; creative writing; writing for psychology; writing for the social sciences and humanities; writing for new media; writing for the future workplace; writing for communication courses; advanced writing; and more. 

I also served as a dissertation and presentation coarch for the University of California, Merced's Graduate Division for six years.
